INTEX Sangam- inviting employees' families at workplace, June 13, 2008

Sangam- the first-ever HR activity of inviting employees' spouses & children- conducted at HO on June 13, 2008 turned out to be really impelling amongst the employees and received positive reviews from their families too.

The objective of the get-together was to brief the families about company’s goals and vision and how the employee would fit into the larger picture so that they are able to relate with the employees responsibilities towards the company and are more co-operative and receptive whenever the situation demands to be. Also, we believe that a family is a strong institution and is instrumental in every individual's decision, hence an organisation must care both for employees and their families.

The event had spouses and children of the following employees- Ajay Arora, Sr. Manager- Vendor Development; Rajeev Saxena, Product Manager-PC; Madan Mohan Gupta, RSM-North- EBG sales; Sanjeev Sethi, Manager Sales-ICA and Devender Sharma, Manager-IQC – Technical. It began with a welcome address from Mohit Kanwar, GM-HR followed by a lighthearted conversation with CMD, Mr. Narendra Bansal.

Post CMD's meeting, there was a painting & drawing competition for the children and a brief company- introduction presentation for other family members. This was followed by a visit to the office premises so that the families could have a glimpse of the employees' work place and could interact with their peers and seniors.

The get-together ended with a closing note from Executive Vice Chairman, Ramesh A. Vaswani. The winners of the drawing competition were presented with gifts and there were mementos for the family members. The employees whose families were invited were given a special privilege leave thereafter.

The post-event reviews of the pro gramme from the families are really affirmative. They found it really informative and a great value-addition in the perception about their spouses' / fathers' nature of work and the company with which they are associated.

Kudos to the whole HR team for putting in their best to make it a success! Enthused with the response, we hope to arrange more such meets in future!
